Our take on Coonwood
Its defining structure puts one alien player against 2–4 raccoon players, with the alien’s objective changing between modes.
What is Coonwood?
Coonwood is a multiplayer horror game set on an unknown planet after an alien crash.
One player controls the alien, while 2–4 others play as raccoons. In Crash mode, the alien tries to send a rescue signal while the raccoons defend their territory. Hazard turns the alien into a hunter, with raccoons trying to stay together and avoid capture. In The Zone, players mutate, find abilities, and have no alliances. Skill branches are shared across roles, so abilities learned as one character can also be used as the other. The alien plays alone against the raccoons, while the raccoon players work together against a common enemy.
How Coonwood plays
- 01Shared Skill Branches
- Abilities learned in one role can also be used when playing the other role.
- 02Three Game Modes
- Crash centers on a rescue signal, Hazard makes the alien a hunter, and The Zone removes alliances.
- 03Asymmetric Roles
- One player controls the alien while 2–4 players cooperate as raccoons.
