Our take on Ogre
The Ogre is the game's defining unit: an AI-controlled superheavy tank with battlefield strength comparable to a full tank-and-infantry battalion, deployed alongside conventional forces during futuristic combat.
What is Ogre?
Ogre is a turn-based strategy game based on Steve Jackson Games’ tabletop wargame.
Players command futuristic forces across irradiated battlefields, using units such as hovercraft, tanks, marines, infantry, howitzers, trains, command posts, and cybernetic Ogres ranging from Mark I to Mark VI. The game includes an original campaign, tutorial and skirmish modes against AI opponents, online multiplayer with ranking and matchmaking, and local hotseat play. Players can choose between the North American Combine and Paneuropean Federation. Different terrain types, water, and defensive positions shape tactical decisions. A scenario creator supports custom maps and missions, which can be shared through Steam Workshop. Custom maps can also be exported as high-resolution images for tabletop use.
