Is Nomad Fleet worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RTS players who want real-time control over fleets in three dimensions
- Strategy fans who prefer randomized maps and repeatable campaign routes
- Players interested in balancing combat, salvage, trading, and research
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a fixed campaign path may bounce off the randomized sector structure and encounters.
- Players who prefer turn-based commands may hit a wall when battles and ship orders must be handled in real time.
- Players seeking small-scale infantry tactics may find the focus on fleet management too broad.
- Players who want a purely combat-focused game may not enjoy the trading, scavenging, dialogue, and research decisions.
Our take on Nomad Fleet
The bounce point arrives when several ships must be directed at once in a three-dimensional battlefield. Players accustomed to turn-based or single-unit control may struggle with real-time orders, control groups, and protecting the mothership while also managing movement and survival.
What is Nomad Fleet?
Nomad Fleet is a real-time strategy game about guiding humanity’s remaining survivors to safety aboard a fleet of battleships, carriers, and fighters.
A procedural galactic map generates varied sectors and encounters, including combat, salvage, dialogue, and trade. Resources come from asteroid harvesting and recovering abandoned ships, then support fleet construction and technological research. Orders can be issued to individual vessels or control groups in a three-dimensional environment. The journey continues when the hyperspace generator charges, but the mothership must reach the final sector intact with enough ships to protect it. Diplomacy and warfare provide different ways to deal with alien societies, while special missions can reveal two additional fleets and advance the story of the pursuing alien race.
How Nomad Fleet plays
