My Lovely Empress is an empire-management simulation rooted in Asian mythology.
As Emperor Hong, players oversee the Crimson Empire by managing resources, balancing internal factions, negotiating with neighboring rulers, and maintaining their people's prosperity. Yaoguai, forbidden creatures that consume human souls, can be summoned to handle imperial duties and resolve challenges. Building relationships with these beings can strengthen their service or prepare them as sacrifices. The simulation affects the story as the empire develops. After reaching the height of prosperity, the ruler must choose between preserving the nation or ordering a calamity that consumes the empire and its people in an attempt to resurrect the Empress. The game combines 2D and 3D visuals with an Asian ink-brush art style.
