Our take on Death Trick: Double Blind
The case is split between two investigators instead of following a single detective: a fellow magician and a private eye with amnesia. Their different perspectives and limited actions replace a straightforward sequence of investigation with choices about which clues and locations to pursue.
What is Death Trick: Double Blind?
Death Trick: Double Blind is a non-linear detective visual novel set in a traveling circus in the mid-20th century.
When star magician Hattie vanishes, players examine the case through two viewpoints: a fellow magician and a private investigator dealing with amnesia. They receive different information, befriend and question performers, explore locations, and gather clues. Actions are limited before time passes, so players decide which leads to pursue. Conflicting accounts can be matched with collected evidence to expose inconsistencies.
The cast features 8 animated performers, each with individual ambitions, personal backgrounds, and motives. The game includes 10 locations that can be revisited, more than 50 CGs, and over 300 comic panels. Its branching narrative contains twists, and major characters have endings that can be unlocked.
