Our take on Mushihimesama
This shooter replaces open-ended exploration with combat built around dense projectile patterns and evasion. A reduced player hitbox shapes that focus, while the range of difficulty settings includes Ultra, described as an especially difficult challenge.
What is Mushihimesama?
Mushihimesama follows Reco, who rides her Golden Beetle through the Shinju Forest in search of a cure for her people's illness.
Across five stages, including a desert, forests, and a cave, players battle giant Koju insects and dodge dense projectile patterns. Arcade, Novice, and Arrange offer different ways to play. Players can also choose from three weapon types, two option types, and several difficulty settings, including Ultra. Training mode allows practice on individual stages. The game also includes local co-op, keyboard customization, support for multiple controllers, online global leaderboards with replay sharing, and soundtrack selection for each stage and area. Optional V1. 5 Matsuri Mode is available as separate DLC and adds alternate music and mechanics.
