Our take on Moonlight Pulse
The defining structure is team-based metroidvania play: switching among heroes shapes movement and combat, while a fallen character can end the game unless a teammate performs a rescue.
What is Moonlight Pulse?
Moonlight Pulse is a 2D platforming metroidvania set inside Aorasque, a colossal spacefaring turtle.
Players travel through the lungs, stomach, heart, veins, and neurons while confronting parasitic creatures. The game allows instant switching between Curative Agents during combat and exploration, with each character offering distinct movement and combat abilities. New powers become available as each character’s story progresses. If one character falls, the game ends, although another can rescue an endangered teammate. Branching blood vessels connect different parts of the organism. Combat includes fast encounters with parasites and multi-stage boss battles, including a foe that can tear reality. A controller is highly recommended.
How Moonlight Pulse plays

- 03Organic world map
- Branching blood vessels connect areas such as the lungs, stomach, heart, and neurons.
- 04Multi-stage bosses
- Large boss encounters take place across multiple battle stages.
