Our take on Monster Path
Its route choices and stacking power-ups put emphasis on adapting a party to each run; that leaves less room for a fixed, authored progression through the same sequence of encounters.
What is Monster Path?
Monster Path is a procedurally generated JRPG roguelike with turn-based battles and monster collecting.
Build a party from more than 35 monsters, each with distinct power-ups that can stack, and choose which enemies to face as routes branch through 9 biomes. Quests change which monsters appear later and affect the game’s ending. The game also includes 8 companions and more than 100 moves for assembling a party and shaping its tactics. Its fantasy presentation uses 2. 5D storybook-style art, with a dynamic score. Route choices involve weighing risks and rewards, including decisions about fights and which power-ups to collect.
