Our take on Mirror Layers
Mirror Layers places a fictional social network inside the progression loop: cooperating with other players is necessary to move forward. This makes communication and item sharing part of puzzle solving, rather than treating social interaction as separate from the game.
What is Mirror Layers?
Mirror Layers is a first-person social horror game taking place in Apartment 12, within a 16-story residential tower concealing a sinister secret.
Players investigate the apartment, gather evidence and useful items, and work through puzzles that become more varied over time. They must also confront hazards in a warped parallel version of the building shaped by past suffering. Progress requires interaction through Propaganda, an in-game social network where players exchange guidance, views and objects. Note-taking and photography tools are included. The dangers consist of an instinct-driven creature and apparitions tied to the location’s troubled history. Propaganda also has web and Android versions for collaboration outside the game.
