Our take on MindSeize
The game’s focus on a solo, planet-hopping Metroidvania adventure leaves out multiplayer play. Its combat customization centers on one robotic body, so players looking for a broader roster of playable characters may find that structure limiting.
What is MindSeize?
MindSeize is a single-player 2D Metroidvania set across four planets in a science-fiction universe.
Players control private investigator M. C. Fox, who connects his consciousness to a robotic body called MAG after an encounter leaves him injured and his daughter’s mind in the hands of a criminal organization. Exploration and combat drive the pursuit, with weapons, mods, and abilities available to buy or find for MAG. Between trips, players can return to the ship and speak with the crew. The story uses comic-book-style cutscenes, and planet logs cover local creatures and environments. The game combines hand-drawn pixel visuals, atmospheric music, and sound effects with fast-paced 2D action.
