Our take on Metavaxx
Rather than keeping minesweeper as a purely nonviolent deduction exercise, the game adds direct shooting and consequences to cell identification. Its board-clearing structure also feeds points into vaccine upgrades, replacing a simple puzzle finish with a continuing strategic progression.
What is Metavaxx?
Metavaxx combines minesweeper-style deduction with shooting.
Players train a vaccine across a selection of body samples, locating infected cells from the information available on each board. Each infected cell can be handled in two ways: remove surrounding healthy cells while avoiding the infection, or fire at the infected cell and deal with the consequences. A sample is completed when only healthy cells or only infected cells remain. Remaining cells determine the points awarded, which can be spent on upgrades for the vaccine. Players choose the order of body samples and select upgrades while pursuing an efficient vaccine. The game frames this process as an attempt to save people around the world.
