Our take on Pigments
The fruit premise receives the most attention, but the central loop is repeated attempts to paint tiles before being destroyed. Progression depends on improving scores, while battle mode provides sequential one-to-one matches rather than a broader multiplayer structure.
What is Pigments?
Pigments casts the player as a fruit trapped in a room with circular saws.
Each of the 12 fruits has its own level and distinct quirks. The goal is to paint as many tiles as possible before being sliced, with painted tiles determining the score. The highest result from each level contributes to a metascore, which unlocks more fruits and difficulty settings. Easy and normal modes are available at the start. Battle mode lets the player choose one fruit and face the others in a continuous series of one-to-one matches.
How Pigments plays
- 01Fruit-specific levels
- Each of the 12 available fruits is assigned an individual level with its own quirks.
- 02Tile coverage scoring
- The number of tiles painted before destruction determines the result for each level.
- 03Metascore progression
- The highest result on each level contributes to a total score that opens additional fruits and difficulty settings.
- 04One-to-one battles
- Battle mode sends a chosen fruit through successive face-offs against the other fruits.
