Our take on AcChen - Tile matching the Arcade way
The main sticking point is the board-clearing rule: pairs must connect with a path of at most two right-angle turns, and blocked routes do not count. On layered maps, the upper selected layer also governs the path search, so players who want simple same-symbol matching may stall when route and layer rules interact.
What is AcChen - Tile matching the Arcade way?
AcChen is a single-player tile-matching game with 60 levels and bonus maps.
Match identical symbols and clear the board by connecting each pair with a line containing no more than two right-angle turns; other tiles cannot block the path. Maps can have up to 3 layers, and tiles above the selected layer affect which paths are open. Arcade mode times each level, and running out of time means losing. Chill mode removes the timer and score, but does not unlock levels.
Every 3rd level is a bonus round, with three types: filling a board, tracking a swapping tile, or finding a pair on a turned deck. Bonus rounds can be skipped. Special tiles and items can add time, provide a hint, or affect the next match. The game also includes three soundtracks, a Steam leaderboard, and 8 achievements.
