Lead a squad of characters from the Metal Slug series through a campaign against General Morden’s Rebel Army.
Battles combine strategic positioning, special attacks, weapon loadouts, mods, and simultaneous strikes through the SYNC mechanic. Reinforcements can include artillery, airstrikes, and the Metal Slug itself. After each battle, experience unlocks weapons and bonus perks for the team. Defeats form part of a die-and-retry roguelite structure, while hand-crafted maps and multiple mission types shape the campaign. The game includes 110 maps, 20 mission types, 36 weapons, 176 weapon mods, 9 playable characters, 36 loadouts and combos, and bosses from the Metal Slug universe.
