We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy designing machines and testing them in physics-driven environments
- Survival-crafting fans who want resource gathering, research, and combat on a hostile planet
- Creative builders who want unlimited materials and flight while making contraptions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who do not want to gather materials and research technologies before building in Story or Survival
- Players looking for a combat-focused game without machine construction, since contraptions are central to travel and defense
- Players who prefer a fixed world rather than randomly generated terrain
Our take on Mechanic Miner
The main sticking point is the move from freeform building to Survival’s resource requirements: blueprints can be reused there only when the needed materials are available. Players who expect every saved contraption to be immediately buildable may hit that limit.
What is Mechanic Miner?
Mechanic Miner places players on a dangerous world where they explore procedurally created landscapes, collect materials, study inventions, and assemble steam-driven devices using over 70 components and construction pieces.
Its physics system determines how each creation handles movement and uneven ground. Machines support exploration, base protection, and battles against creatures and monsters while progression moves through different environments and Aether Storms. Story and Survival modes impose scarce supplies, crafting, research, and combat. Creative Mode removes resource restrictions and grants invulnerability and flight for unrestricted construction. Players can preserve their designs as blueprints, then recreate them in Story or Survival when sufficient materials are available. Steam Workshop sharing allows contraptions to be distributed to other players.
How Mechanic Miner plays

- 03Blueprint sharing
- Save machine designs for use in Story or Survival if the required materials are available, or share them through Steam Workshop.
- 04Planetary hazards
- Hostile creatures, monsters, difficult terrain, and Aether Storms threaten survival and base defenses.
