Our take on McRogue
Rather than using the 2D setting named as its inspiration, McRogue brings roguelite elements into 3D exploration and melee combat. Its rising enemy strength also makes elapsed time part of the challenge, rather than treating exploration as open-ended.
What is McRogue?
McRogue is a 3D combat exploration game with roguelite elements.
Each session uses a level generator to create a new world, with forest, swamp, and wasteland settings. Explore for secret chests containing power-ups and abilities, then use melee attacks from the giant robotic fists attached to McRogue's arms to fight the robots. As time passes, enemies become stronger, tougher, and more numerous. The game includes six basic enemy types with variants, a first boss, and 17 multi-stage power-ups that develop McRogue's abilities during a session. An AI director adjusts difficulty and tension as play progresses. The game supports Xbox 360 and DualShock4 controllers, along with Steam Stats, Achievements, and Cloud Save.
