Our take on Malum
Rather than giving players weapons from the outset, Malum makes survival the opening objective: clues and artifacts must be assembled before a demon-fighting weapon can be summoned. Its horror structure therefore shifts from immediate combat toward evasion followed by retaliation.
What is Malum?
Malum is a team-based horror survival game for one to four players.
Groups investigate deserted Soviet bunkers, underground sewers, asylums, and other settings while being hunted by demons. Every map features a different enemy with its own powers, attacks, and patterns. Players gather evidence and combine artifacts to call forth a weapon that can injure the creature chasing them. Before obtaining it, they must study each demon and avoid its attacks. Several characters, locations, challenge levels, and demanding encounters provide varied sessions. Victories and defeats both award money, which can fund van decorations and single-use supplies for future expeditions. Flashing imagery is included, so people affected by photosensitive epilepsy or comparable light-triggered conditions should exercise caution.
How Malum plays

- 04Round-based progression
- Each completed round awards money regardless of the result, which can be spent on van cosmetics and consumable items.
- 05Adjustable difficulty
- Several difficulty settings change the challenge level for missions.
