Our take on Magical Runes
The defining structure is a defense system built around magical artifacts that attack automatically, leaving each assault to be shaped by choices among spell upgrades, new magic types, and a resource-collecting assistant.
What is Magical Runes?
Three kings send armies into sacred swamplands, and the player must defend the land with magical artifacts.
Each relic casts spells automatically against approaching enemies, while magic crystals provide resources for further development. Crystals can improve existing spells, open additional forms of magic, or strengthen an assistant that gathers resources. The central decisions involve choosing between stronger defenses, a more capable helper, and new magical forces. The game presents its conflict through hand-drawn visuals and a dark fantasy setting, with the swamps transformed into a maze of magical defenses. Its structure centers on surviving an advancing enemy assault while selecting upgrades that shape the available defensive powers.
