Our take on Madness on Display
The focus on atmosphere, investigation, and puzzle solving leaves less room for sustained action. Progress depends on examining documents, interpreting the hospital’s history, and navigating hazards rather than maintaining a combat-heavy pace.
What is Madness on Display?
Set in 1917, Madness on Display follows journalist Samuel Reed as he searches Grandview Psychiatric Hospital for his missing sister, Anna.
The abandoned hospital changes around him, with shifting corridors, locked doors, hidden passages, slamming doors, and mannequin-filled darkness. Progress involves collecting notes, diaries, medical records, and photographs that reveal Dr. Langham’s experiments, his pursuit of immortality, and the patients affected by them. Puzzles draw on medicine, anatomy, and psychiatry, while encounters with revived nightmares and sudden screamers create hazards during exploration. The game combines environmental investigation, puzzle solving, and survival within an oppressive horror setting supported by atmospheric sound and realistic visuals.
