Our take on Locked Up
Instead of branching routes and player decisions, this visual novel presents one fixed ending. Its structure centers on following Snezhana’s forest journey, with optional automatic text playback and a gallery that tracks progress.
What is Locked Up?
Every autumn, Snezhana heads into the forest with her dog Ayda to collect mushrooms, keeping a tradition in honor of her late grandparents.
When she finds their usual gathering place cleared out, she ventures farther into unfamiliar woods. Set in 2007, the story follows her growing fear and isolation amid harsh natural surroundings. This kinetic visual novel offers no choices and has a single ending. It can be read without input, with automatic text advancement available as an option.
The narration uses a first-person viewpoint, and Snezhana appears in cutscenes. The game features 18 illustrations, of which 12 depict distinct scenes rather than alternate versions of one scene, as well as music and sound effects. A gallery tracks story progress and lets players revisit memorable moments.
