Our take on Limouzik
Rather than requiring note-by-note knowledge, this music tool groups three-note chords and recalculates pitches as chords change. Its structure replaces conventional instrumental practice and solfège with guided harmonic relationships, while two mini-games introduce the operating concept.
What is Limouzik?
Limouzik turns a computer into a virtual musical instrument based on chord relationships within the same key.
Selecting a chord recalculates the pitches of other notes so combinations remain harmonically aligned. The software groups three-note chords under one key, allowing songs to be played without music theory or instrumental practice. It includes 128 MIDI instruments, a beat box, a virtual synthesizer connection for using sounds from GarageBand or other compatible software, and score transposition across all keys. A converter can generate material from a chord grid or tablature. Two mini-games, Simon Says and Cursus, introduce the software's concepts. Songs can be recorded and exported.

Limouzik uses chord-based pitch recalculation, score transposition, a converter, 128 MIDI instruments, and a beat box. BM Studio focuses on assigning sounds to buttons, changing their tone, and playing through the keyboard. GraviSound uses draggable sounds arranged as tracks, with track shapes altering the result.
