Our take on Lightning: D-Day
The coastline links the five beach fronts: taking one can let the winning forces flank an adjacent beach.
What is Lightning: D-Day?
Lightning: D-Day is a head-to-head card game set during the Allied landings in occupied France on 6 June 1944.
The deck represents five beaches—Sword, Juno, Gold, Omaha and Utah—along with German divisions and Allied units. The Allies seek control of as many beaches as possible by the end of a run through the 110-card deck, while the Axis begins with an advantage. Players use cards to add forces or support, considering both the situation at each beach and the coastline’s layout. Winning one beach can let forces flank neighboring beaches, so card placement also shapes later options. Players can take either side, play solo against AI, compete online, or use hot-seat multiplayer for two players.
