Our take on Legends of the Universe - StarCore
The store emphasis on numerous abilities, enemies, and exploration gives the game a broad-sounding scope, but the concrete description mainly establishes a spaceship setting, upgrade-based traversal, stat increases, several bosses, and a straightforward theft mission.
What is Legends of the Universe - StarCore?
StarCore is a metroidvania-style action platformer set aboard a giant spaceship.
As Trion, leader of an Arkonian team, players attempt to take the StarCore from the Draketh, a mining empire whose technology can destroy planets. The campaign combines platforming, combat, exploration, and character progression. Movement and weapon upgrades include a dash, double jump, water walking, and a rocket launcher. Stats such as attack, defense, and jump can also be increased. Newly acquired abilities open routes through areas that can be visited again. Several large boss encounters are included, along with meetings with new allies. The Arkonians undertake the mission without assistance from the Galactic Council because they consider the Draketh a threat.
