Our take on Lazy Galaxy: Rebel Story
Instead of making kills the route to stronger squadmates, the game ties ally growth to relationships within the group. Formation changes and ally abilities also put squad tactics alongside the familiar task of dodging and firing in a shoot-'em-up.
What is Lazy Galaxy: Rebel Story?
H-34-RT, a robot awakened on a derelict station, resumes his defense routines against the O'Xelg invaders.
This squad-based shoot-'em-up combines bullet-hell combat with roguelite progression. Fly through eight levels, face varied enemies, and take on bosses while advancing toward the O'Xelg communication base. The fleet begins with H-34-RT alone; allies can be rescued along the way. Rather than gaining strength from enemy kills, allies grow stronger as they build relationships with the robot and one another. Fleet formations can be changed to dodge incoming fire or concentrate attacks, and ally abilities can increase firepower or restore health. The game also supports local co-op for two players.
How Lazy Galaxy: Rebel Story plays
- 01Relationship-Based Growth
- Rescued allies become stronger through their bonds with H-34-RT and the rest of the squad, rather than by defeating enemies.
- 02Adjustable Fleet Formations
- Change the squad's arrangement to evade projectiles or direct more fire at targets.
- 03Ally Special Abilities
- Squad members can increase firepower or restore health during missions.
- 04Two-Player Local Co-Op
- A second player can join the shoot-'em-up locally.
- 05Eight-Level Campaign
- Progress through eight stages toward the O'Xelg communication base.
