RPGIs Kudos 2 worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Life-simulation players who want decisions limited by a daily action budget
- Players who enjoy balancing careers, friendships, leisure, and everyday needs
- Fans of turn-based character management focused on one person rather than a group or empire
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players wanting fast, arcade-style interaction may bounce off the deliberate one-or-two-actions-per-day structure
- Players seeking control over a large group, city, or empire may find the single-character scope too narrow
- Players looking for combat-focused progression may find the emphasis on work, relationships, and everyday decisions limiting
Our take on Kudos 2
The bounce point arrives when each day permits only one activity, or two on weekends. Players who want to pursue work, friendships, rest, and leisure simultaneously must leave some options unused and accept the resulting trade-offs.
What is Kudos 2?
Manage a single character through ten years, from age 20 to 30, in a turn-based life simulation.
Each weekday allows one activity, while weekends allow two, creating trade-offs between employment, friendships, rest, pets, food, television, alcohol, job searches, and martial arts. Decisions can shape careers, social lives, finances, confidence, and protection from crime. Friends’ personalities influence the character, while different choices can produce contrasting lives, such as a wealthy corporate lawyer with little social life or a popular guitar player working as a waitress. The game uses artwork by comic artist Jamie McKelvie, and each playthrough can develop differently.
