Rather than centering strategy on battles or empire management, the game makes an election campaign its central contest. District-level campaigning, staff selection, scandals, rallies, patronage, and intimidation form the main strategic structure.
What is Political Animals?
Political Animals is a turn-based election campaign simulation set among corrupt crocodiles and meritocratic mice.
Each turn, logistics move a candidate and staff across the political map to build support district by district. Staff choices shape the campaign: lawyers can handle scandals, while preachers can energize the population. Players can raise funds from wealthy groups, give gifts to political patrons, or hold rallies. Campaigns include real and fabricated scandals, along with events that test the candidate’s ethics. Players can select and customize animal candidates, choose from eight staff types, and campaign across eight maps based on countries around the world. Campaigns are designed to last 1–2 hours, with different approaches to winning votes.
