Our take on Katana Soul
The no-save, no-continue format makes each run depend on execution rather than checkpoint recovery. That arcade structure keeps the adventure focused, but it also leaves little room for players who want to resume progress after a difficult section.
What is Katana Soul?
Play as samurai Kan in a dark version of Sengoku-era Japan, fighting demonic creatures and navigating traps while uncovering the story of a tengu mask and a curse.
The game is a short arcade-style adventure, with a stated playtime of 30 minutes and no saves or continues; progress depends on the player’s katana skills. It features more than 30 enemies, two difficulty levels, and a Survival mode. Its visuals use a 16-color palette based on the C64, accompanied by chiptune-style music.
