Our take on Caveman Ransom
The game focuses on direct retro platforming, trading broader systems and mechanical variety for a fixed structure of levels, enemies, traps, bosses, weapons, and shop purchases.
What is Caveman Ransom?
Play as Ooga, a caveman searching the primordial lands of Sandellha after bandits abduct his grandfather for ransom.
The game uses 16-bit-style pixel art and chiptune music across 50 platforming levels populated by dinosaurs, monsters, traps, and ladders. Gameplay focuses on jumping, dodging hazards, climbing, and defeating enemies. Five boss bandits provide new thrown weapons, with four weapons available to collect during the journey. Coins can be spent in a shop on useful items, and the game includes character progression and achievements. The story leads Ooga to the bandits’ den, where he attempts to dismantle their gang and rescue his grandfather.
