Our take on Jawbreaker
The defining detail is the shift from a dangerous daytime search to greater threats after sunset, changing how the police-station mission must be approached.
What is Jawbreaker?
Jawbreaker is a survival horror game set after the Great Economic Collapse of 2028, when armed groups fight over resources in the ruins of the United States.
The player belongs to a small gang in New Citadel City and is sent to investigate rumors of an unlooted police station near the edge of town. The mission combines stealth, exploration, puzzles, scavenging, and combat. The Faceless Gang hunts in groups or alone, while gunshots can draw attention. Hiding places include lockers, tables, shelves, and shadows. The player searches the station for supplies, weapons, and a way out, with the danger increasing once the sun goes down.
How Jawbreaker plays
- 01Stealth hiding places
- The player can use lockers, spaces beneath tables, gaps between shelves, and dark areas to remain unseen.
- 02Environmental scavenging
- The station can be searched for supplies, weapons, and an escape route.
- 03Sound-attracting weapons
- Gunfire can draw the attention of nearby members of the Faceless Gang.
- 04Nighttime danger shift
- Threats become more severe after daylight ends.
