Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want relaxed exploration may hit a wall when the following beast punishes wasted time.
- Players seeking a stable, hand-crafted route may dislike choosing paths through a newly generated map each run.
- Players who want a large multiplayer experience may find the stated solo-or-buddy structure too limited.
Our take on Death's Toll
Players who need time to search, sleep, or consider every route may bounce off the constant pursuit system. The pressure becomes most pronounced when supplies are scarce and the beast continues closing in after a delayed decision or wasted movement.
What is Death's Toll?
Death's Toll is a difficult roguelite roadtrip adventure across a randomly generated world.
Players choose locations from a map, then fight enemies, scavenge supplies, and collect food, drinks, and powerups while a mythical beast continually follows them. Limited sleep and scarce supplies add pressure to each journey. Several character classes offer different fighting styles, and strange NPCs provide encounters and dialogue, with character personalities ranging from Hero to Menace. The game includes choices and roadblocks during travel, and supports solo play or play with a buddy. Each adventure uses a new map, with routes shaped by the locations selected along the way.
