Is Aftertime worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want a linear zombie shooter with occasional dinosaur and ghost encounters
- Fans of solitary survival journeys across hostile environments
- Players seeking a slow-paced action game that also includes chaotic firefights
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking branching missions or open-ended exploration may find the linear structure restrictive.
- Players looking for consistently fast action may not suit the slow, quiet stretches between violent encounters.
- Players wanting a multiplayer experience are not the intended audience for this lone-survivor campaign.
Our take on Aftertime
The linear mission structure gives the journey a clear direction, but sacrifices freedom to choose routes or shape the survivor’s progress. Its alternation between quiet travel and combat also trades sustained intensity for a slower, more uneven pace.
What is Aftertime?
Aftertime is an action-adventure game set in a world altered by toxins from a fallen meteorite.
Humans have become zombies, while dinosaurs, giant mushrooms, massive creatures, and ghosts occupy cities, interiors, forests, swamps, and caves. The player takes the role of a lone survivor moving through linear missions in search of help and a safe place. Gameplay combines firearms and melee weapons with ammunition, grenades, health kits, and food. Encounters can shift from quiet, slow-paced travel to violent fights with enemies. Grenades and explosive barrels can damage zombies, and the HUD can be disabled with the TAB key.
