Our take on Harthorn
Players who want to explore without consequences may bounce off when carelessness becomes lethal. The pressure arrives during investigation: checking rooms, notes, and the map is part of survival, so players who prefer to move through a horror setting without tracking clues may hit a wall there.
What is Harthorn?
Set during winter break in 1994, Harthorn puts players on night patrol as a part-time security guard at an empty high school.
After investigating a broken window, players work with radio dispatcher April to follow a story of psychological horror. The school’s rooms, from its gymnasiums to its frozen forests, are open to explore. Progress involves talking with April, solving puzzles, reading notes, and checking a map. The game is short and story-driven, with narration, dialogue, exploration, and clues that build a larger account of what is happening at Harthorn. Carelessness can have lethal consequences.
