Our take on Isle of Birds
The defining constraint is a finite island where every bird placement competes for space, while moving birds can disrupt carefully planned merges.
What is Isle of Birds?
Isle of Birds is a casual town-building game focused on filling a small island with birds and their homes.
Players drop birds onto available tiles, where matching birds join together and create a home. Placing matching homes beside one another can produce taller birdhouse structures. Birds react to nearby placements by moving, bobbing, spinning, or becoming startled, which adds uncertainty to positioning. The island has limited space, so each placement affects future merging opportunities. Poor planning can leave a single-tile dead end, prompting a sushi or pizza kiosk that contributes nothing to the score. The objective is to build high-scoring birds and reach the leaderboard before the island is full.
How Isle of Birds plays
- 01Matching Bird Merges
- Birds of the same type combine when placed together, creating homes and supporting further upgrades.
- 02Tall Birdhouses
- Adjacent matching homes can merge into vertically larger birdhouse structures.
- 03Moving Birds
- Nearby placements can cause birds to wander, bob, spin, or become startled.
- 04Leaderboard Scoring
- Points come from building higher-scoring birds before the island runs out of available space.
