Play it if you…
Good fit- Co-op shooter players who want coordinated squad roles
- Roguelite fans who enjoy assembling builds during repeated runs
- Action players who want large-scale encounters with varied enemy attacks
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a quiet or slow-paced experience may find the focus on enemy waves and Titan attacks too intense.
- Those who prefer fixed character builds may not enjoy combining upgrades, damage types, effects, and modifiers between runs.
- Solo players looking for a game centered on single-player play may not suit its four-player co-op focus.
Our take on Ironsand
Instead of focusing on a lone shooter, Ironsand centers combat on coordinated squad roles and run-based build creation. It also makes battlefield destruction part of encounters, while rescued inhabitants can join raids as supporting allies.
What is Ironsand?
A distress signal sends a squad to the planet of the Long-Eared, where a machine army is led by colossal Titans capable of leveling cities.
Up to four players can form a team of distinct combat roles and combine offensive, defensive, and support abilities while fighting enemy waves. Runs include collecting weapons, upgrading characters, and combining elemental damage, status effects, and combat modifiers into builds. Titans use individual weapons and attack patterns, including turrets, missile barrages, pulse attacks, and heavy artillery. Players can destroy buildings, bridges, and cover, while environmental disasters may also endanger allies. Rescued Long-Eared inhabitants can join raids, fight beside the squad, and support the team.

Ironsand compared to similar games
Ironsand combines four-player co-op shooting, Titan encounters, run-based build crafting, and destructible environments. Abyssus also features cooperative roguelite shooting, but its description focuses on hand-crafted levels and brine-powered weapons that can be refitted with ancient technologies.
