Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy 2D platformers with fantasy settings and dangerous enemies

- Players who prefer developing movement and combat abilities as a story progresses
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed platformer may find the emphasis on danger, patience and skill a poor match.
- Those who want broad combat options from the outset may not enjoy being vulnerable before fire abilities are learned.
- Players looking for a game centered on extensive interface displays may not suit the minimal HUD.
Our take on Illusoria
Rather than relying on a persistent HUD, the game removes it except during dialogue, while using an illustrated map on loading screens to show travel progress. Its platforming also builds abilities over the course of the story, leaving the character vulnerable before fire powers become available.
What is Illusoria?
Illusoria is a 2D platformer set in a fantasy kingdom threatened by the Puppet Master and his monsters.
As Keeper of the Flame, the player must protect the kingdom, its people and Empress Amelia, gaining the Guardian’s power during the journey. Movement includes running, crouching, rolling, climbing, gripping ledges and making jumps of different lengths. Later, the player learns fire-based attacks and protection, including fireballs, flaming shields and a fiery lunge. The story can be played at the player’s pace, with notes and scrolls available to collect for more history about the world and its inhabitants. The interface omits the HUD except for dialogue text boxes, and loading screens show an illustrated map that fills in as areas are completed.
