Our take on I'm a King
The store presentation foregrounds the broad burden of ruling but gives less space to the game's repeated pressure cycle: uncertain supplies, storms, and daily removal attempts. That structure points to a compact survival-management experience rather than an expansive kingdom simulator.
What is I'm a King?
Rule a kingdom as a young prince after the sudden illness of the previous king.
The game combines role-playing and strategy with decisions made in court, investigations, resource management, and survival during dark storms. Choices influence how events unfold and determine the ending. Workers provide varying amounts of food and building materials, so kingdom planning must account for uncertain supplies. Dark storms can destroy buildings and reduce the population unless the kingdom is protected. Each game day brings an attempt to remove the ruler from the throne, including mercenary attacks organized by conspirators. The game includes several possible victories and many ways to lose.
How I'm a King plays
- 01Branching Decisions
- Court choices alter the progression of events and the game's ending.
- 02Variable Resources

- 03Dark Storms
- Storms can damage buildings and lower the population when defenses are insufficient.
- 04Daily Conspiracies
- Mercenaries are sent against the ruler each day, requiring decisions about defense.
- 05Multiple Outcomes
- The game provides several victory routes alongside numerous possible losses.
