Our take on HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed
Players looking for a layered shooter progression system may bounce off when they find that unlocks are earned in-game without a pay-to-progress structure. Solo players may also hit a wall if bot-supported defense and resource gathering do not provide enough human coordination.
What is HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed?
HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed is a first- and third-person shooter built around defending the Hypercore from waves of weaponized toys.
The story campaign assigns objectives while players search for weapons, resources, and hidden secrets, then prepare defenses for incoming waves. Solo play works offline with player bots that follow commands, gather resources, and build defenses. Co-op supports 1–4 players online or locally, with difficulty changing according to player count and full split-screen support. The game also includes competitive modes for up to eight players, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Battery, Infection, and King of the Hill. In-game unlocks are earned through play, and the game includes no pay-to-progress or pay-to-win system.
