Our take on Curse of the Deadwood
The focus on twin-stick combat gives the game a varied arsenal and enemy-driven encounters, but leaves less room for a purely exploratory or story-led structure. Local co-op is available, while the described multiplayer format is limited to playing together on the same couch.
What is Curse of the Deadwood?
A twin-stick action adventure for solo play or local couch co-op.
Players control Lathe and Roguard as they fight wooden zombies across forests, mountains, and swamps. Combat combines ranged weapons with melee and magic attacks, while enemy types have different strengths and weaknesses. Weapon parts found throughout Knottington can upgrade the arsenal, and ranged weapons include skill trees with unlockable options. The game also includes puzzles, citizen rescues, boss encounters, and exploration areas containing weapon upgrades. Fully voiced cinematics follow Lathe and Roguard as they investigate an ancient spell, confront the returning threat, and attempt to protect the Woodlings’ home.
