Our take on Hyper Chess
Rather than alternating turns, the game has both players moving pieces at once. Mana adds another departure from standard chess, making resource timing part of each attack and defensive response.
What is Hyper Chess?
Hyper Chess replaces turn-based play with simultaneous, real-time movement.
Each piece can be moved while the opponent acts, requiring rapid decisions alongside longer-term positioning. Moving a piece consumes mana, while mana regenerates continuously, allowing players to choose between frequent individual moves and saving resources for a four-piece attack. Matches can last from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. The game includes several modes, more than a dozen collectible chess sets, and multiplayer for local or online play. The central objective remains protecting the King, but the pace and resource system change how pieces are deployed and how players respond to threats.
How Hyper Chess plays
- 01Real-Time Chess
- Both players control pieces at the same time instead of waiting for turns.
- 02Mana-Based Movement
- Piece movement spends mana, which replenishes continuously during play.

- Individual games may run from 10 seconds to 10 minutes.
- 04Local And Online Play
- Multiplayer matches support both nearby players and online opponents.
- 05Collectible Chess Sets
- More than a dozen different chess sets are available to collect.
