Our take on HYDROGEN
The defining combat twist is the parry: a successful block reflects the exact attack back at its source.
What is HYDROGEN?
Hydrogen is an action roguelite set in a post-apocalyptic science-fiction world, where a mercenary fights to rescue humanity from impending doom.
Each run moves through procedurally generated instances with changing challenges and random items. The mercenary gains perks to develop abilities and customize a playstyle. Combat includes physical damage and elemental attacks: fire and acid deal damage over time, electric attacks can hit multiple targets, frost stuns enemies, and void knocks them back. A successful parry reflects the enemy’s attack, while dashing makes the character invulnerable to damage for the duration of the dash.
How HYDROGEN plays
- 01Elemental attacks
- Fire and acid inflict damage over time, electric attacks can hit multiple targets, frost stuns foes, and void pushes them back.
- 02Attack parrying
- A successful parry sends the enemy's own attack back at them.
- 03Invulnerable dashes
- The character cannot take damage while a dash is in progress.
- 04Procedural encounters
- Instances are generated anew, bringing different challenges and random items across runs.
