Our take on HoPiKo
Instead of presenting platforming as a steady journey through levels, HoPiKo divides play into five-stage timed bursts. Minimal controls, shortcuts, and muscle-memory movement place rapid execution at the center rather than exploration or combat.
What is HoPiKo?
HoPiKo is a speed-run platformer about jumping between platforms while avoiding death and using shortcuts.
The game contains hundreds of handcrafted levels, with each one placed into a five-stage mini-run. Time-based scores and level pars support competition to become the fastest player. Collectible retro consoles open unique bonus runs. The story follows the HoPiKo, beings who ran games before the Nanobyte virus infected hardware and rendered systems useless. Players must save the enslaved HoPiKo. The game uses minimal controls for twitch-based movement and relies on muscle memory. Its soundtrack consists of chiptune music written and composed on authentic hardware.
