Our take on Hive
Hive departs from the usual board-game layout by having the pieces create the play area as the match develops. Its central structure replaces fixed spaces with an expanding arrangement, while the goal remains focused on surrounding the opposing Queen Bee.
What is Hive?
Hive is a digital board game in which players create the playing area by placing insect pieces rather than moving on a fixed board.
The objective is to surround the opposing Queen Bee. Matches can be played locally, online, against computer-controlled opponents across five difficulty levels, or in hot-seat mode with shared controls. Asynchronous play allows a match to continue while an opponent is offline. The game includes mouse and keyboard, gamepad, camera-controlled 3D presentation, and Steam statistics and achievements. Three tabletop expansions—the Pillbug, Ladybug, and Mosquito—are available as downloadable content and can be enabled or disabled for individual games.

- 04Expansion Controls
