Our take on Abalone
The presentation emphasizes refreshed graphics and the game’s long history, while the actual structure centers on a focused marble-pushing ruleset. Its variety comes from difficulty levels, challenge objectives, custom setup, and multiplayer formats rather than from several unrelated game systems.
What is Abalone?
Abalone is a digital adaptation of a marble-pushing strategy board game.
Players move one, two, or three aligned marbles by one space, then push opposing marbles when their group has greater numbers and contact. Victory depends on planning attacks, blocking positions, traps, sacrifices, and anticipating the opponent’s responses. Solo play includes three AI difficulty levels, a campaign of unique challenges, Challenge Mode, Free Play Mode, and a custom mode for setting rules and initial marble placement. Pass & Play supports matches on one device, while Online Mode connects players through an Asmodee account. Challenges increase in difficulty, beginning with objectives involving one marble and progressing to harder tasks. The game supports English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch.
