Our take on Heliotropism
Rather than directing armies or developing a conventional settlement, this strategy game centers on one tree. Growth, mutation selection, resource spending, and seasonal survival replace the expansion and conflict structures common in many strategy games.
What is Heliotropism?
Heliotropism is a roguelike tree-building game about surviving long enough to produce fruit.
Players place tree parts by spending generated energy, then use those parts to generate more energy. Seasonal effects shape each run, with winter threatening trees that have no energy and no leaves. More than 100 mutations can strengthen the tree and change the preferred playstyle between runs. Crises include events ranging from a small breeze to forest fires, requiring planning and mitigation. The game includes four seasons, 10 crises, 10 unlocks, an underground area filled with aquifers, rocks, and sigils, customizable interface options, and hundreds of voice lines. The stated goal is reaching the fourth year.
