What is Halcyon?
Set in 2506, Halcyon follows a human sent to Earth by Mothership Terra in search of signs that humanity’s former home has survived.
Instead, the expedition finds a world filled with lush, mutated life and the remains of the Anthropocene. This 2D pixel-art side-scrolling shooter combines ground and aerial combat against giant insects, mutated birds, and other creatures. The player carries a plasma rifle and a flight bot while moving through distinct biomes and hazardous environments. Scarce supplies and limited respite frame the journey. Parallax environments, colorful backgrounds, and remnants of the old world provide the visual setting for this debut from two independent developers.
