RPGIs Gunswitch worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Arena-shooter fans who want dense enemy waves and large volumes of gunfire
- Players who enjoy experimenting with weapon and character combinations
- Local co-op groups looking for drop-in squad-based action
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a quiet or slow-paced experience may find the constant hordes, bullets, blood, and explosions too intense
- Players wanting a tightly scripted adventure may find the focus on repeated combat waves and build experimentation limiting
- Players looking for online multiplayer may not find the local co-op format suitable
Our take on Gunswitch
The focus on overwhelming hordes and rapid loadout changes leaves less room for quieter exploration or slower, character-led progression. Its squad system adds tactical switching and spare characters, but also centers the experience on combat builds rather than a single-character journey.
What is Gunswitch?
Gunswitch is a top-down arena shooter set in Cerberus, a space prison and research facility.
Players fight waves of demonic aliens that vary in size, speed, behavior, and strength, using movement, herding, knockback, firearms, and explosions. Guns can be modified with added projectiles, explosive ammunition, higher firing rates, and other stat changes. A squad of android characters can be equipped with weapons, cover the active character automatically, and be switched during play. Each squad member can function as an extra life. The game includes multiple facility levels and local co-op, with controller-based drop-in and drop-out play for squad members.
