Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed level layout may find the dynamically generated dungeons less suited to that preference.

- Players looking for a stealth-focused shooter may prefer a game built around stealth rather than fast-paced combat.
Our take on Gunnhildr
Instead of separating combat from world-building, Gunnhildr delivers lore during dungeon exploration through a guide who pauses when fights intensify. Its run-based structure also ties combat resources to both immediate survival and post-death upgrades.
What is Gunnhildr?
Gunnhildr is a first-person shooter with roguelite mechanics, set in a Norse-inspired science-fiction world.
As the warrior Gunnhildr, players travel through dynamically generated dungeons and fight the Primes’ forces. Enemies and the environment provide Halite, which can restore shields, cool weapons, open treasures, and buy shop items. Most collected Halite returns after death for ability upgrades at the Pensieve, while runs also use permadeath. Weapons can be upgraded with powerups, or replaced with new weapons that may already have powerups attached. Between battles, the guide Lucky tells stories about Niflheim, pausing when combat intensifies. The game combines resource management, changing rooms, challenge rooms, and a story about escaping Niflhel and opposing the Primes.
How Gunnhildr plays
- 01Halite Resource
- The same material funds shield recovery, weapon cooling, treasure access, and shop purchases.
- 02Weapon Upgrades
- Powerups can modify weapons, while newly found guns may arrive with upgrades already applied.
- 03Returning Halite
- After death, most collected Halite can be used to improve abilities at the Pensieve.
- 04In-Run Storytelling
- Lucky shares Niflheim’s legends between fights and stops speaking when combat demands attention.
