Our take on Gunborg: Dark Matters
The game’s combat chain ties weapon changes to maintaining a run of quick kills. That rewards sustained aggression, but gives less room for a cautious approach focused on stopping between encounters.
What is Gunborg: Dark Matters?
Gunborg: Dark Matters is an arcade-style twin-stick shooter set aboard a large spaceship filled with hazards, traps, aliens, and robots.
Move through levels by running, jumping, and wall sliding while aiming in 360 degrees. Keyboard and mouse controls pair movement with aiming, and gamepad controls are also supported. Combat uses an energy blade, shield, jetpack, and weapons taken from defeated enemies. Blocking or deflecting attacks and killing enemies in quick succession builds a combat chain; dark energy then changes how weapons fire and increases their power. Info-bots unlock extra levels and a hardcore difficulty setting. After completing the game, players can unlock Survival Mode, which pits them against enemy hordes.
