Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed platformer may find the rapid hazards, pursuit, and score decay demanding
- Players wanting broad exploration or extensive character progression may find the 7-level structure focused and compact
- Players who prefer keyboard and mouse as the primary control method may not suit the gamepad-oriented design
Our take on Exoder
Its focus on rapid movement, deflection, and score chasing leaves less room for slower exploration or elaborate progression systems. The gamepad-first control design also makes keyboard-and-mouse play a secondary option rather than the central experience.
What is Exoder?
Exoder is a fast 2D action platformer about escaping the Adit, an alien tunnel leading toward distant worlds.
Movement combines jumping, dashing, dodging, evasion, and shield use to deflect attacks from enemies and bosses. The campaign contains 7 levels and 8 boss fights, with power-ups such as Slow, Giga Blast, and Double Jump changing how encounters are approached. A score that decreases over time rewards rapid completion while limiting deaths and damage. Hidden content includes a secret level reached by deciphering its route. The game also features a beginner-focused mode, varied hazards including gravity wells, portals, icy surfaces, and shifting platforms, and a soundtrack. Mouse and keyboard controls are supported, but the game was primarily made for gamepad control.

- Keyboard and mouse input works, while gamepad use is the primary control approach.
Exoder compared to similar games
SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER is also a runner with jumping, dodging, and shooting, while Exoder centers on shield deflection, dashing, boss fights, and a score that declines over time. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, whereas Exoder presents a 7-level campaign with 8 boss fights, power-ups, and a hidden level.
