Our take on GUN JAM
The game makes musical timing part of the combat loop: shooting and movement actions follow the beat rather than treating music as background. Its importer also lets players use their own tracks, with beatmaps generated for play in the maps.
What is GUN JAM?
Gun Jam combines first-person shooting with beat-based movement and attacks.
Players time shots, dashes, kicks and rocket jumps to the music while surviving enemy waves and taking on bosses with distinct attacks. The game includes four battle arenas, multiple characters with individual attributes and Overdrive abilities, and weapons such as the Double Barrel Shotgun, Railgun, Rocket Launcher and Plasma Rifle. Its soundtrack spans EDM, TrapHop and Metal. A custom music importer generates beatmaps from MP3, WAV, FLAC and OGG files, allowing imported tracks to be played in any map. The setting is the city of Mubel, where music is used to control the population and the player fights against the Speaker.
